Biography
Dr. Tu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Durham University, UK. Before joining Durham University, she worked as an academic in the UK and New Zealand. Prior to this, she was an IRCSET Embark Initiative Postdoctoral Research Fellow, UCC, Ireland. Dr. Tu got her PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the City University of Hong Kong. She completed her Postgraduate Certificate of Professional Development in Higher Education (PGCPD) in Glyndwr University, and two Women and Leadership Certificates with Monash University and Aurora UK respectively. She is a Cisco certified instructor.
Dr. Tu is an Editor for (Elsevier) Ad Hoc Networks, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and IET Smart Cities. She is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK, and the current Chair of the IEEE IoT Educational Activities Committee.
Research interests
- My research is in the general areas of computer networks and wireless communications. I study next-generation wireless/mobile multihop network technologies, non-terrestrial networks, multimedia networks, IoT networks, resource utilisation, QoS/QoE, multicasts, network security, mobility management, and parallel and distributed systems. In these areas, I design algorithms/protocols, conduct performance analysis, and develop theoretical analysis.
