Abstract
Ecocide refers to the widespread, long-term and severe destruction of the environment. There is strong and growing movement to make ecocide an international crime. This movement hopes to use the crime of ecocide to end corporate and governmental impunity for massive and severe ecological damage, including climate change. It also seeks to shift cultural perspectives on environmental destruction. This presentation will examine whether international criminal law could or should be used to address severe environmental degradation
This lecture is free and open to all. Registration is not required to attend in person.
