British Epigraphy Society Spring Meeting
The next spring meeting of the British Epigraphy Society is taking place 10:00-17:15 on Saturday 18 April in the Ritson Room, Department of Classics and Ancient History, Durham University.
The event will feature:

Academic presentations on papers and posters on epigraphic topics

A visit to the Durham Museum of Archaeology to view the Lanchester Military Diploma and other inscriptions in the collection

An optional excursion to the lapidarium at Chesters on Hadrian's Wall on Sunday 19 April.
Confirmed speakers include Katherine McDonald, Nick Zair, Michele Bianconi, Anna Sitz, Thea Sommerschield, and Ilaria Bucci, who will be speaking on topics ranging from Oscan and Messapic to Syriac and Byzantine epigraphy.
Applications to present papers and posters are welcome on any topic relating to epigraphy, particularly topics beyond traditional Greek and Latin epigraphy. Please email christopher.de-lisle@durham.ac.uk by 23 January with proposals consisting of a title and a 150-word abstract.
There will be no charge for attendance, but it would be appreciated if people who plan to attend could register by emailing christopher.de-lisle@durham.ac.uk by 13 April 2026.

The optional excursion to Chesters on 19 April 2026 will cost £10.00 / person including transport.
